Why do orgasms only last for a few seconds? Isn't it better from an evolutionary standpoint for orgasms to last longer?

Why? From an evolutionary standpoint it will only be as long as it needs to be to give a survivalist advantage. If anything the ability to give longer orgasms to your partner would be an advantage because it would make you more 'attractive'. Having a longer orgasm provides no advantage since it only needs to be long enough to transfer genetic information.
