could not be a number. It is mostly a question of brevity and clarity. It is easier to
say that today is the 5th of February 2022 than to explain that today is the 5th of
February ?, where ? := 2022.

It's a direct consequence from its definition.

An unbounded quantity that is greater than every real number.

Now suppose inf is a number --> inf is greater than inf
Which is impossible.
So inf isn't a real number
