>>13559069>Do we have the ability to make "Quick build" nuclear plantsNot really, the chinese have the best mass production nuclear plants and they can't really compete economically with solar or wind, though china builds em anyways since there are other considerations than simple economics.
>What prevents us from just spam-building more off-shore wind farms?Nothing, that's why they are being built all over the place, there are of course limited sites and it's more expensive to build off shore than on shore but it's still quite cheap compared to memes like nuclear and even fossil fuels in most cases.
>Is it possible to use electrolysis to store energy in form of pure hydrogenYes, but you do waste some energy so it's not being done now since it's not needed. This will be a technology of the future where places like sunny arabia will make solar power that just makes hydrogen and acts as a refueling stop on the china - europe route for ships. You can also do the same thing with synthesizing hydrocarbon fuels, both have their advantages, hydrogen is probably better for things like ships since they are big enough and operate steadily enough to take advantage of hydrogen while gasoline will be used for more consumer applications like trucks or farm vehicles.
>Instead of making new cars and systems, why isn't engine conversion like pic related more popular? No one wants to buy something like that, it's like asking why are there new cars in the first place, why doesn't every just ride a tuned up model T
