If you really want to do this sort of thing I would recommend first learn how to do it properly from people who already can do a good job at it and later try to give your own spin on it, even learning their process can give you some ideas on your own.
The biggest problem I'm seeing here is not even the pixelart, but the colors and model you used. Try improving that at least. Some basic stuff, is common for pixelart to use color pallets so you are not sensory overloaded with a lot of trash depending on the resolution.
