I always wondered if is possible to "cure" aphantasia. I hear so much about this stuff, the simpletons and people saying they have but never heard a descent enough explanation why and how it works.
Is a biological thing? Lack of practice because the individuals personality and never daydreaming when he was a kid? How does work exactly, is a function on the brain that doesn't work or simply mental processing being interpreted different?
I talked with a few of my peers in more esoteric areas of study and one of them presented me with a article of something called bicameral mentality.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bicameral_mentality#:~:text=Bicameral%20mentality%20is%20a%20hypothesis,mind%2C%20and%20that%20the%20evolutionaryBasic the idea that the voice in our head, is something quite recent and born from modern structures of narratives like books that create our inner monologue and in the past our mind was divided in to two aspects, the inner and logical and the external and emotional that did things. So ancients would "hear" gods giving them instructions while doing things and that was our earlier concept of inner monologue, way more primitive. So people now with no inner monologue probably are just a derivative of said model of mind, probably for the lack of consuming certain types of media. The question is, aphantasia could be something similar?
With that idea is possible to change your own perception of mind enough to create or increase your own capabilities of visualization, many of you must be familiar with tulpas, that are a similar concept. Something on that vein, but less niche and extreme, different types of meditation and exercises in order to build your capacities of imagining things and not so much fucking your waifu or whatever. Makes me think.
