gesture is a tool to aid you in figure study. in my figure classes, we usually warm up by doing a few pages of 30sec gestures from the model. proportion is an element of all figure drawing, and a result of measurement. you will get a refined sense for proportion as you study from the model. I'm not sure what you mean by construction, as all traditional representational drawing is a form of construction. muscle groups are not necessary to know if you are starting out besides some major ones which can help your drawing of the model when in non-ideal lighting scenarios.
