personally, I think people who improve the most are the the ones that have some sort of ambitions and also knows what what they wanted to accomplish. If you are not going to art school, you won't have structure to keep you practicing then what you needed is some sort of personal motivations, and usually that comes in the form of your personal projects. Do those, study as needed, find out what your short coming was and concentrate on those areas so you can immediately apply what you learn into things that you are interested in.
