why does my art go to shit on digital? It feels like I have to slave for hours on any digital drawing, drawing in my sketchbook comes so much easier...why???

That's because you haven't adapted your hand-eye coordination yet

On paper, you can see your fingers
On digital, you can't and have to do it almost blind

Keep at it for as much as 3 months. This is my first sketch in digital

I am still improving it.
My skill on paper is still superior to my digital

I have left a lot of unfinished drafts though because I lost interest. I would draw them again with better skill if I felt like it

Unless you have a screen tablet or an iPad but that can be very expensive
But the hand eye coordination thing is true and that's why those with screen drawing tablets are almost always more confident

digital is of course going to need a learning curve. it's worth it though, because once you adapt to it it is more efficient and convenient than traditional in every way. shortcuts are your friend, learn to pan, rotate and zoom around and you'll be fine
