Is getting a formal education absolutely essential for becoming professional/semi-professional in art? Is there any resources for building up a portfolio of digital artwork that can be used without teacher instruction?
I realise that this sounds very stupid to you all but I'm asking becouse I am desperate for any form of salvation at this point.
I'm currently in a Degree for Software Development (that I suck at unfortunately) and I want to know of if there is some way to reconcile this with my interest in art as a potential career.
Please, please be as honest/harsh as possible.
I just want to get answers, that's all I want.
Thank you and God bless :)
