because they were mostly produced by sunbow, and the animation was done in japan and korea. hth!

Japan and the west began the same, but splintered off into different path while still having the same overarching trends.
Both had their golden ages and both are in decline
But the west is in more much more decline because they focussed far too hard on simplistic styles in the 90s whereas Japan kept drawing somewhat realistic humans, which kept their skilled artist industry afloat while it had no market in the west

Back in the 80s, early 90s America outsourced their cartoons to Japan, but in late 90s, early 00s they started outsourcing to Korea.
