From 2018-2020, I took a few art classes and made some friends.
However, they've all stopped doing art to focus on work.
They also don't really respond on social media anymore, so I took the hint and stopped messaging them as frequently.
Maybe a "happy birthday", but that's about it.
All the guys were in fields like photography/film. While I do some myself, I'm not super into it, so I can't relate to them as much.
One of the girls dyed her hair blue recently, so that's a red flag. I feel bad for her bf.
I was attracted to a different girl, and I think she felt the same way. We had a lot of similar tastes and interests when it came to art stuff.
But, she was always talking about "her friend", and in the wise words of Biz Markie:
"Don't ever talk to a girl who says she just has a friend "
Turns out, I should have listened.
I bought her a present for her bday. It was related to an animated movie we both mutually love-hate. (yes, I'm that retarded)
Her bday is around the same time as valentine's day, and she finally posted a picture with her bf she's been keeping hidden. It also explained why her responses were so infrequent or simply one-word replies this year.
I've kept contact to a minimum since. I'm thinking about either selling the present or just re-gifting it to someone else.
As of right now, the closest thing to an art community I have is here. I've also accepted that I'm pretty much alone irl.
