How the fuck do people draw so fast?
Like what would take me a few hours, others do in 1 hour or even less. Granted, I get distracted easily and overthink a lot of things, but wtf?
Am I just mentally too slow and it's over?

When you draw do you instantly jump into a "finished piece" and just doodle around until you think it's right? That can easily kill a lot of time.

I suggest before you start on your next image you do thumbnail sketches and get the idea out clearly in a simplistic way first.

After you draw the same pinup pose 10000 times, you can nail the lines without minimal sketching. Then just change the hair color and eye color to match the fanart / oc

That’s your perspective. Finished work can take a whole working day of 8 hours to 12 to 48 hours depending on the complexity.

Yeah, I'm always confused how some artists can push out lewds of a newly revealed character within the hour of their release.
At first, I thought maybe they had insider knowledge, and had it ready to go ahead of time.
But, I think the more likely answer is they had poses and sketches of generic bodies that they slap basic features of new characters onto.
Their experience also plays into their speed of output.

Don't worry about speed. It'll come naturally. When you learn to handwrite, things were slow as hell at first, just try it now with your non-dominant hand to see how slow and painful it is.

However now, all those muscles, all those nerves have been trained for years, and are perfectly in control of your mind. But it took years for your body to develop, and it happened when you were a kid, thus more "flexible".

its just practice man I'm twice as fast as I was 2 years ago. a piece that used to take me a week takes 2 to 3 days. part of it is also being loose and not caring about the piece, throw it down fast the fix it up as you need to.
