Realistically speaking what’s the best path to choose in the art world if you want to make a living wage?

I am thinking about comic creator at the moment simply because you own your IP and OC characters, meaning that your commissions are more valuable since you are the creator himself, but you also are creating characters out of nothing


Meanwhile just drawing what’s popular at the moment will gather more people but they will probably be less “faithful” since you are just one of the many artists doing one franchises

Making high end commissions like oil painting, sculpting and pro level of arts also seem like a good option
