I look down not on the anime format, but on the industry and the fans/posser-takus for linking such brainded content as it is anime today, not so much on artistic level but rather on a narrative one.
To be more soecific I fucking hate izekais but they are incredible popular due to faggots that watch it just because they want a poorly written power fantasy.

OP here, I dropped seasonal anime years ago, around when Isekais started getting popular, 2017? 2018? anyway, I only watch some classics here, and there now... you're telling me that anime is still sucking Isekai's dick to this day? holy fucking shit, anime is fucking dead.

NTA, but here's one possible answer: Draw nsfw fanart of popular anime of the week, month, and upload it everywhere, specially on Reddit, and Twitter, eventually you'll get a following if you're good enough, and network with artists on your niche, specially the popular ones, good luck.

I like some japtoons but honestly, they all feel the same. It's like, the WHOLE of Japan just use the same template for their artstyle with very little modifications per artist. That goes for anime and games. they all look the same. Look at cartoons, they all have their own unique style as long as they're not made by the same person. Anime...no matter who the mangaka or studio is, they all look basically the same. Also, the plot is always the same as well. Always the same repeated stuff. There is very little imagination there. And most mangas and anime I've read or watched that people thought were very imaginative were actually just using stuff from Japanese folklore, nothing new. It's not bad per se, but you've seen one, you've seen 'em all.

I'm the opposite. Used to write off anime art out of hand, think it all looked the same, think it was inherently inferior, think strict adherence to reality was the highest aspiration of an artist, etc. I grew out of that when I grew out of my other preteen edgelord tendencies. Unironic anime hate is the kind of thing you see from the same people who write fanfics where it's indicated that the main character is a person of class and intellect because they "sip red wine," or who obsessively start arguments about whether god exists (regardless of what side they're on).

There has never been an instance of great Japanese art. It’s not even just anime or manga but even classical Japanese art has always looked like shit. Berserk does not have good art. Hokusai is not a good artist. People who will disagree with me are just Japan obsessed pedophiles and they know it.

Yeah there's no real outliers but some who make an attempt to be outliers. The problem is they have no skill or sensibilities when it comes to original writing and just throw in random shit like malformed folklore or western literature/psychology/philosophy haphazardly. just namedropping in the latter's case. although fake depth and intellectualism is a problem in entertainment media in general. it's very grating in japanese media though because they tend to do lots of explicit exposition that doesn't need to be there at all, so when it comes to intellectual topics it's always cringy.
