>>5993903>My current plan is to read Robertson's `how to draw`Good luck, its a snore lol, i would recommened using robertsons how to draw and how to render as a supplement/reference for when you get stuck on something. But if you can manage to push through it, more power to you.
But yeah youre on the right track, best think for you to do starting off is learn perspective. Do it immediately, as quickly and as thoroughly as possible. Marshall Vandruffs perspective lessons are good and cheap.
People are often very passive about learning pespective and it always shows in their work later on. They think they "get the gist" and then they are like, gg done with that whats next?
Wrong.
Learn to transfer scale
Learn to plot shadows accturately in radial and parallel light
Learn to cut in and out of forms, to simplify complex shapes into primitives.
Learn how to draw 2pt, 3pt, and 1pt without distortion, then learn how to draw them all with controlled/intentional distortion
And for the love of god, learn proportional division, and learnbit well.
You dont even worry about rendering until you get perspective down, its a lot more intuitive to learn and most of it you can get a good understanding of by doing photo/life studies. After you learn perspective youll learn how to render competently in like half the time.
GL, keep at it.
