"Fixers" assign themselves the role of savior to feed their ego, to be perceived by their peers as morally superior. It is arrogance at its worst.
But, they only change minor shit, after all the heavy lifting has been done by the original artist, then try to claim credit for "improving" it.
Critiquing art is one thing, but to deface another creator's work to virtue signal for brownie points on Twitter is just despicable.
