Why does it feel like I do sketches that look more appealing when using a color that isn't black? After getting a red lead mech pencil, I'm actually enjoying drawing more and I feel like I'm making more progress and understanding construction better. But the logic behind it confuses me. I switch to a regular pencil, and suddenly things don't flow as well and I feel like I'm fighting against my brain instead of just naturally having fun with a sketch. Is this just fucking weird ADHD shit or is there something to this? I see a lot of other artists also using different colors if they're just sketching, but I figured that's mostly just for the purpose of not having your lineart clash with your base sketch. But is there something else to it?
