It's one of those things where they technically have the rights to use what you submitted in its entirety, just by submitting it. That probably won't happen, but they can use it for whatever they want. The actual paperwork once you win is pretty standard, but it's a complete buyout of the work.
The problem with Talenthouse (and a lot of online competitions) are:
1. You're doing free work with no expectation of being compensated. This is bullshit; brands should just pick a freelancer and hire them.
2. Many times, they'll choose winners who did not follow the requirements, tips, style boards, etc., so you can never really be sure what the brands want or what type of work you need to make.
3. Going off 1 & 2, there is a lot of competition for these, and you might put a ton of effort into something only to watch it lose to some low-effort bullshit. Happens a lot.
4. They are unbelievably unprofessional behind the scenes. Terrible communication, I'm still waiting for a $500 payout from 9 months ago.
