Okay so now I should be able to draw what I want from imagination with these tools I've honed right?

When you learn the fundamentals you learn to see things you would miss out otherwise.
When you blindly trace a picture, you are just trying to copy the shapes. When you know your shit, you understand why those shapes look the way they do and the pattern of those shapes.
Like in a caricature, someone that understands the facial anatomy will be able to convey the information easier, and will even be able to distort it without the information being lost.

so? People here say knowledge doesn't matter, appeal does. Nonartists aren't trying to test you by asking you draw unique complex scenes in perspective. They want simple looking art.

Why wouldn't you? You live in the modern age and have near constant internet access. It takes like a minute to find good ref off Pinterest.
Also, you're not getting ref so you can perfectly copy it, it's more just a guide for your own stuff. Yes you can just draw from imagination if you want, but it's helpful to have a visual when you can't perfectly visualize stuff in your head

I don't understand why people here are so frustrated about learning fundies. These are tools that are meant to help you

I learn anatomy because I enjoy it, I learn perspective because I enjoy it, and I use both knowledge to start drawing what I want from the start, I don't wait, waiting is an idotic take. You have many various ideas in your mind daily, why would you wait? You dumb truck.

I have understood that I could never learned something if I hold a grudge against it. You probably didn't enjoy learning those stuff and you are proned to fail since the beginning.

And the always use reference is just an opinion, what kind of idiot thinks they'll have to follow any single order given out by some people instead of trying it out by themselves.

They want to jump straight to drawing anime girls like their favorite artists for SFW or NSFW, somehow forgetting that those same artists have a better grasp on Fundamentals than it might look.

Trace then, who is stopping you? Using reference makes things easier and less likely to get wrong, yeah you'll be able to draw from imagination, but only as far as your visual library takes you. If you don't understand these things you probably don't draw.

Just look at someone like proko, a person who undoubtedly has their fundies down (maybe not perspective idk) but can't draw fucking anything from imagination. The way I study personally is for every hour I study, I should do 30 mins or drawing from imagination. Sometimes more. It's such an important thing to keep your own unique essence in you drawings and not have them turn into clinical, lifeless studies.

No, you still need to do the following
>Figure Drawing from life
>Drawing people in environments
>Multiple different methods of stylization
>Reilly Rhythms
>Different methods of manneguinization
>Construction
>Composition
>Rendering
>Colour Theory

If you actually want to do realism from imagination, it's not going to happen overnight. It's going to be 10+ years before you're competent, assuming ~60 hours/week workload. Make a schedule and a timetable for how many hours/day you're working on which part on each day. Learn to like the grind, or ngmi.

Ateliers. Russia also still has some academic art outside of ateliers, but most countries don't.

Other than that you start with something, try to do complex work, see what's missing and what you're lacking, and find some book or source to improve on that. The most important things in the beginning, if you are taking art seriously, is to set up your time management and scheduling. Jeff Watts talk abouts this in this vodcast:

What even is that? Genuinly. Like what kind of art lession group actually gets you out of beg? I did do like, half a year of one week stuff when i was in highschool and I didn't know any better, and it was all bullshit. 5 months in and the ideea of construction wasn't even brought up, it was litterally simbol drawing but with real faces. Now truth be told I never asked for study materials at home or such since i was a moron, but still.

Most schools suck for realism. Ateliers - at least those supported by ARC - tend to be the exception. The format is less about courses and certifications: Teachers are generally available, students might work on different things from each other, with the teacher assigning them new work and instructing them. You'll only get more challenging things once you've shown you've mastered the basics.

Ateliers basically aim to teach like people were taught before art schools became a thing. They're aimed at realism, though exact methods can vary. Watts atelier for one is more focused on Reilly rhythms, others might focus on sight-size etc. Not all of them are great, since there's really no accreditation to start one, so do your research before signing into any one. They're also not all that common, which is going to be a problem for many who don't live near one - though they've been getting somewhat more numerous in recent years.
