This stuff almost has a western look to it, it's obviously inspired much more by western illustration aesthetics than what we typically come to expect from anime. Normal people will not think of this when they hear someone mention anime, it's relatively obscure compared to the mountains of sameface horseshit that's shoveled out over there.
