What dimensions/aspect ratio do you work in, /ic/?
More importantly have you thought about why?
You don't still draw in wide canvasses like 1920x1080, right?

Generally I switch between 2000 and 3000, really depends on the kind of brushes I plan on using. Nice sharp sharp work great on 3000 for me but I don't like using the more squiggly brushes on that res

I usually just upscale the biggest dimension, where it’s the width or height, to a default 6000. The other dimension gets upscaled proportionally so it’s not like a situation like in OP’s pic.

2:3 is such a strange dimension i've never seen that before. What would that even be, 16"x24"? 20"x30"? That seems like European sizing i don't think American canvases are ever really that ratio.

whoa lol, me too, exactly. 2000x2000.
even my sketchbooks are always square, and are about the same size physically as the digital canvas subconsciously feels to me.

gives the most room in any direction i feel like bleeding my work into, without constraint.

having the flow of my pencil suddenly squashed up against borders on a side feels limiting and bad, kinda like a mobile army suddenly brought up with their backs to a river.
i also crop expand and resize as i go, but it’s never really needed till i’m nearly finished.

1600-ish and I resize it when I'm done sketching if I need to.
If I was getting paid for this shit I'd probably work with dimensions in the 4000 range for sharper details even after a 50% export and easier editing but I'm just some guy on the internet
