How does reference work? If I want to create a semi-realistic OC, do I need to use reference models for every single drawing of them until I know them well enough that I don't really need the references anymore? Or do you always use references no matter how good you get? Does anyone ever get good enough that they can go straight from imagination or is that reserved for prodigies only?
