My brother is like that too, he has one internet friend he chats with, at varying frequency (every couple of months, once every 2 years depending on his mood) and even at school he kept everyone at a distance and rejected all attempts at people getting into his life.
I tried to invite him to a party, luring him with snacks and he actually came but... He brought bags, stuffed them and his pockets with snacks and left.
Idk if he actually has SPS (schizoid personality disorder), but he's happy and doing well, so I wouldn't call it a disorder.
Some people just are like that I guess...
I on the other hand was diagnosed with AVPD (avoidant personality disorder) and I crave human contact so much, but I'm just shitty at interacting with people. If I didn't live with my senpai and had the amount of friends I have, I'd die of loneliness.
I bask in the ability to just go into my family members rooms and recharging my energy just by socialising and being around them and I regularly do online movie nights via parsec with my far away friends. I seem to be just the most introverted extrovert.

Maybe you can check if there are any artist meetups in your town; I've been to one at a café in mine and most who came were socially awkward, so I didn't feel too out of place.
