I think many of you already know this, but the average person that isn't an artist isn't going to spend more than a minute looking at your art unless it's attached to a comic, attached to a game, animated, or they're jerking off to it. I realize that visual arts really aren't appreciated just by themselves, and they seem to be more complimentary to other creative mediums.
My question to those that have come to the same conclusions as me; has this changed your approach in any way? Are you engaging in other creative skills to compliment your art, or have you accepted that your art will only ever amplify other people's endeavors? I don't like the sound of the latter, so I'm thinking of trying to balance visual art and something else at the same time, but I'm not sure how I would find the time. The only thing I've ever been even solid at was drawing
