Is the loomis head and bridgman the pinnacle of anatomy?
Got made fun of for drawing muscles with both a medical and artistical diagram of the muscle structure and was recommended bridgeman instead but honestly...hesides the drawings i really don't fell like im getting any smarter.

Is bridgeman all there is? Is there even a point in art books or are they the only way to "understand" how to practice good.

There are far more detailed books on anatomy, but Bridgman and Loomis are far less about detailed anatomy information than they are giving you their own condensed interpretations of the major forms as simplified, delineated masses so that they are easier to understand, memorize, and manipulate. Like a Cliff's Notes version of the figure.
Loomis takes the approach of providing you an easily memorized 'mannequin' of the figure that's easy to learn, practical and versatile for illustration work.
Bridgman's approach gives you less of a concrete and easily reproduced 'model' rather than teaching you to interpret the figure as blocky, chunky, interlocking mechanical masses.
Both methods are teaching you anatomy secondhand. The 'pinnacle' of anatomy is the source, the figure itself, and detailed anatomy books that give you information on the anatomy in as factual a manner as possible (because it would be impractical to dissect dead bodies yourself.)

The value of interpretative anatomy books is to show you multiple different ways of 'solving' the problems of the figure, thus giving you more tools and different ways of thinking to approach the subject and create your own personal method of interpreting the figure (or whatever it is you are trying to draw).

Loomis is for construction and bridgman is for style and simplification. Neither one is for learning anatomy retard.

For anatomy go get the book atlus of human anatomy for artists by stephen rogers peck and start learning the skeleton, then when you have a basic understanding start learning the flexor groups and extensor groups for all major muscles and then start learning the orrigins/insertions and do studies and ttraceovers of athletic people doing athletic things with as little clothing as possible.
