I bought an iPad and Apple pencil. How is this for drawing?

I'm going to try drawing again. I haven't touched it for 5 years, but digital art seems better on a tablet rather than my old Wacom pad.

Yeah it's good. I've heard quite a few professional artists say they would start with an IPad if they hard to start again. As you can tell this board sucks so take the resources from the art book and video course thread and leave this place behind.

Keep asking questions online and absolutely in no circumstance NEVER put that pen to that iPad and actually draw. Don't do it. Don't experiment. Kids will draw if you give them a crayon; your job is to intellectualise. Fall back on the neuroplasticity argument if all else fails and an urge to draw surfaces.

This but unironically. If you've taken the big step of actually buying an ipad to draw then you need to learn the theory before risking developing bad habits from the get-go, especially in digital.

Not OP here but I've been eyeing an iPad myself, would you say theyre capable enough to do linework and majority of work before transferring the file to PC photoshop for some final touches on an intuos?
I really, really don't want to buy a Cintiq or any other related device because they're overpriced and with poor QC, also huge

It's a very good choice. Download IbisPaintX on your iPad, it's a cool drawing app made in Japan and is unironically better than all of the paid apps. Just make sure you set your stabilizer settings to these, it corrects potential shakiness from lines. Have fun.

Not good but viable especially if you have a bluetooth keyboard. Buy Artstudio if you ever used PS, or Clip Studio if you used CSP. If you plan to do finished work then other apps aren't worth your time probably

Depending on how long ago you bought it, and what kind it is. If it's not a pro, I would return it and get the new ipad air (The new one has the m1 chip). I plan on getting an ipad, with the apple pencil 2. Seems like a really good device to draw on when out and about or if you don't wanna be around your computer. Right now Im using a small sketch book, and pencil when im out. Just when I can afford, I wanna get it though.

I have like a 9.7inch android tablet and its so much better with a small wacom tablet and PC cause the software is much easier to navigate.
I'm still very beginner and bad with a screen to draw on or not.
