Do you draw on paper or digitally? Is it just preference or because you prefer one or the other?

I used to draw traditionally, but switched over to digital. I find the process much more smoother, and I’m having fun learning the programs like another language. Also it’s a bit easier to share digital art.
I still keep a small sketchbook with me for when my tablet is charging, or when I just wanna scribble down an idea.

I do realistic drawing with pencil and paper when I feel stress with digital Animu drawing and vice versa. Saving money for Ipad pro and Faber Castell pencils set
Haven't play game for years, just draw in my free time.

I deleted most of my vidya a while ago and honestly, it didn't bother me as much as I thought it would.
My mind is surprisinglu clear these days.

you make a mistake on paper, you have to start all over
i do recycle my scraps but i don't think it's actually doing any environmental help
i never got the blue pencil trick to work so i invested in a thin lightbox, works wonders

I only do digital for sketching + painting or lineless art cause coloring is less expensive. When it comes to actually linework, trad pencils and pens. Digital lineart is too hard for me and I do practice it but it has been years and im still utter shit. Drawing lines on trad is also faster and I feel as if I have more control and line quality while in digital I have to keep cleaning my lines.

Digital just lacks appeal to me because it is literally just some data you can print off and no matter how good, it brings out the uncanny valley of artificiality if that makes sense. It doesn't feel "real."

It saddens me that there are people possessing true skill with the eye but you put an actual medium in their hand and they can't do it. Traditional artwork is dying.

I use both, they got their ups and downs. I sometimes combine them by doing a complex sketch in digital, print it, trace it on watercolor paper and painting it traditionally

Put a piece of tracing paper down and tape it with masking tape so it doesnt move. Tape your drawing down too. When you need to move to a new section of your drawing, just remove the tracing paper and put it down in the next area for your hand to rest on.

It also helps to have your paper taped onto a drawing board that you can put on an easel or table easel. When it's up vertically it's harder to rest your hand on it and smudge it. Always use the tracing paper trick though. And obviously dont tape the tracing paper to your drawing paper, you want it taped onto the drawing board or your desk.
