>>5948606To this day I really think Marco Bucci's CGMA color and light course is the best course I've ever taken. He breaks it down as if you're a toddler and as someone with the IQ of a goldfish it was really helpful. I'd actually argue its one of the best transitions for someone who wants to learn to paint when they've done nothing but drawing but that's my own anecdotal experience.
It's a shame he no longer teaches it. You can say whatever you want about his art but his color and light stuff is really easy to grasp. I didn't enjoy the exercises much in a couple weeks but overall I probably learned the most from it out of any course.
In terms of anatomy I took a Ron Lemen course from CGMA a while ago and it helped a lot but I was forced to suppliment with books from michael hampton and such. But the overall exercises were really helpful in terms of understanding stuff even if you would never draw that way when working on something yourself unless its ecorche or something.
Currently going through Noah Bradley's landscape art camp and its really good even if the dude is pretty much a pariah nowadays. I took a different approach to the exercises though. Rather than blowing through week after week I spend 2-3 weeks on each "week" so I feel more comfortable with a subject.
