I do like some of the boss designs and their attack patterns, most of the others you just kill by running under their ass and stabbing them though.
I guess there's also the lore stuff, you don't have to pay attention to story at all or you can activate schizo mode and read all the item descriptions to piece it together.
Not every stage/map is muddy shit, I don't know why they decided to do that. I guess, to make it more impactful when you do see the very few colorful or bright stages? I guess it works... Elden Ring is definitely a lot more generally colorful and bright than the other games, and they still find ways to make other areas stand apart. Maybe it was a lazy art director choice making everything edgy and muddy.
