>>5941048>>5940996Lies. There are so many people lacking in IT jobs and there's tons of stuff that just require code monkeys desu
I got a masters in CS and working in cyber sec as a consultant now. I originally wanted to study art, but my mom talked me into getting something that guarantees a job first, then do art later. Very pragmatic I guess
It's alright, I don't hate it most of the time. Mostly it's just the 9-5 grind that gets on my nerves, but the work culture change during covid has helped. I just turned 30 and am grinding fundamentals, but it might be too late for me to realistically reach a professional level, idk we'll see I guess. The dream is to be a freelance fantasy illustrator.
I make good money, have bought an apartment in the capital of an expensive country, can afford travelling and the hobbies I want to indulge in.
A friend of mine who does freelance illustration moved countries to study art, then stayed there for the affordable rent (I suspect) vs here, rents afaik, works crazy hours, yet I still envy her as I can see the love she pours into her work.
