That includes the protagonists, antagonists, and other characters that get a lot of screen time. I’ve invested a lot of time creating their personalities, motivations, themes, story arcs, interactions, etc so it’s hard not to say I don’t care about them. Some characters on the other hand are designed to be fodders, jobbers, or one-offs so I’m not as invested in them. To use another example, what would you be more emotionally invested in: a commission or a personal artwork?
