an example is photoshop/corelpainter/paintstorm wtv Mixer brush, with a little bit of practice you can fake being better at painting than you really are, just bulshitting your way into nice brushwork
no need to oly use a basic round brush, but painting with only a basic brush from time to time is a good way to actually learn and develop skills so that you can fully utilize other tools
plus the Op's "they wont save you" line seems just like an excuse for another useless thread where /beg/'s can procrastinate and not draw cuz "muh brush settings"
