No real plan going in, though in this case I did apply an AI filter to distort the soldier to start with and merged back with original as the base image. Looks like I threw in some charcoal like etch strokes ( hough transform) somewhere. I try to incorporate noise, that is to keep it but reshape it and make it work. I often incorporate other images just to get strange effects. Rough goal on this one was smash 'em until illusions start showing up in the details. I probably used 40-50 filters, mostly the artistic filters and the color manipulation filters. I do usually have about 3 milestone images I'll merge into the current approach.
