I like it too, but the readability is a bit confusing. I think he is using some sort of soft brush, I would also add some texture in the middle too look more a part from everything, not a whole lot but it would make a world of difference if you tried to mimicry traditional art with those soft strokes and add some needed contrast.

Thanks, yeah. I've been alternating between drawing and painting because I realized my paintings were built on bad drawings and my drawings were to focused on rendering
