>>5928077Americans and Australians equate small to childish or cartoony.
You'll notice in a lot of places outside of America and Aus are all very one size fits all. Cars, food, drink, etc. It also isn't that kids get adult portions of things but more that there aren't sizes meant for kids only and adult sizes are less excessive.
Most people wouldn't dream of drinking more than 400ml of soda for example but in the US and Aus that's an offensively small amount. Most people wouldn't dream of getting a television that needs to be hung up on the wall due to its excessive size, yet most families who own actual houses in US and Aus make that a default feature while smaller TVs are deligaded to kids play rooms or bedrooms.
It's cultural and it extends to many things like having excessively large cars like Trucks and SUVs. It isn't a European thing because Japan, China, South Korea, etc all design cars that are typically smaller than what's sold in the US. Those companies will even create or enlarge cars specifically FOR the US.
Toyota is a good example of this. A Japanese company but many of their American vehicles are large and use excessive amounts of gas because more is better, even if it means using more. People take pride in the fact that their Tundra only gets 14 mpg and even equate it to manliness or strength, despite the fact that it has no reason to use that much fuel. They have trucks that don't use that much fuel.
Bigger better larger more more more more more. If you don't use as much you're either a child or a fag.
