>>5926388>branding yourself to a groupIt's about close tribal-living-culture.
Close knit tribes will have face painting or some shit or tats to symbolize the tribe they belong to or to signify manhood or some shit.
See pic related.
Gangs or Sports teams will have colors they wear.
Someone getting noodle soup written in chinese or some hyeroglyphs with no meaning on their body, has nothing to do with anything.
>But you are a slave if you brand yourself by choice?Do you know how farm cattle get branded to show the farm they come from?
You're doing the same with a tattoo.
Cattle gets branded to symbolize who owns them, you brand yourself because you think you own your body, but the brand ends up owning you mentally.
Think about if you were to design a character for a story;
>What clothes does he wear?>Does he have tattoos or scars?>Why does he wear those clothes and why does he have those tattoos and scars?If you think;
>they look cool You just created a stereotypical edgy teenager oc.
And if you get yourself a tattoo for a very feeble reason; you became the stereotypical edgy teenager oc.
>>5926394My point has nothing to do with religion, neither did i get the idea from it.
When i was young, i wanted to get a tattoo too, but when i started thinking about it, through introspection, it started to dawn on me.
Then i saw others who were getting tats and how they behaved about it and pretty much confirmed what i was thinking.

Owned by a branding he has done to himself.
