why people remain perma/beg/s

I have been thinking that the sole reason people remain perma/beg/ is largely due to ego. Not just any kind of ego, but the ego of an being an adult. I remember when I was a kid I copied from Mark Crilley's videos and I thought he was amazing. I didn't have a mental library of what looked good or not, I just drew from him and other sources step by step. But as an adult if I were to go back and try drawing from him I would get annoyed and frustrated because the instruction isn't in-depth enough.

Nobody faults a child's drawings unless you're a crab. But as an adult drawing like a child is not only embarrassing but demotivating. You think to yourself that you have all the resources and intellect so you should be able to skip over the mishaps of what children make and leap ahead of them. So you grind and grind some more and get nowhere. Then when it's time to put what you learned to use you draw in the exact same way. What is the exact same way I'm referring to? Take for example you studied 300 faces and now it's time to make a finished picture with your newfound knowledge...

When you make a picture (of lets say an existing character from a series) you still don't know what the fuck you're doing and to appear like you don't want to draw like a child you make up everything. As a result it looks too tryhard and worse than what a child can do. At least the child knows they can't draw hands or faces and excludes it but delivers a really well rendered finish while the perma/beg/ forces it out in pretend because of adult ego. What's holding every single perma/beg/ back is adult ego.
