I personally like to watch and read anime/manga but I can never draw like that, too much classical training from online sources that my drawings don't end up looking like anime at all... I suppose my artwork is more influenced by western artists and I don't mind that, speaking of which, favorite B&W Ink classical artists that I could get artbooks of? Recently ordered Dürer's woodcut collection book, fancy that style a little bit.

There are major yet subtle differences between what a realist painter can do and what a camera can do.

You can try to pick a simple object, take a few pictures, learn how to use some features of your camera to alter the pictures. And, make a few drawings/paintings from the same simple object.

Not exactly my point: from the emulating human visual perception point of view, a camera and a painter will work differently. A good painter can and should be more accurate regarding emulating human visual perception.

Still, it doesn't mean the artwork will be good! Merely that it can emulate the way we perceive things with our eyes. A good artwork requires first and foremost some kind of "soul", a mood.

There are great things made by anime/digital people. Depends on your criteria for evaluating good/bad, but sticking to a realistic rendering doesn't make your drawing good or bad. The main aspect, what people look for even in modern abstract chaotic fantasy, is some kind of mood.
