Has clothing and armor design kind of died out in the current era of anime/manga?

Back in the golden years, you had mangakas and designers putting a lot of effort into the clothing or gear of the major, sometimes even worthless minor characters that appear only for 2 or 3 episodes, characters. Even in something as cartoonish as Saint Seiya you still had a lot of details put into what the characters wear, and that tradition still continued with Bastard!! and the likes, especially as Hagiwara's art evolved. The mecha design of 80s and 90s Sunrise productions was also a big selling point for them as well. Clamp is arguably the face of 90s manga, and they're majorly renowed for their character designs and fashion sense.

Let's look at the most currently popular manga: My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, Black Clover, Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsawman and Attack On Titan. Out of those 6, only the first one has any thoughts put into the superhero costumes and the second one kinda feels like a very simplified version of Clamp-esque stuff for a weekly manga. Jujutsu Kaisen and Aot are especially guilty for using the same uniform on the vast majority of the characters, with the first sometimes using minor quirks to tell them apart.

It's not only prevalent in japanese media, but fiction in general as well (compare the kinda cartoonish and over the top american comics and cartoons of the 80s and 90s to the garbage Nu-Marvel puts out or calarts shit). What exactly caused this?
