It's the pinky side palm, the usual culprit when people see a sixth finger in artwork. Fairly certain the hands are photo referenced. A better draftsman would have been able to make it work

I'd argue it's a bigger issue for whoever approved it - mistakes happen, we all make them, but there are leads and managers for companies like this for a reason, and that they didn't catch it either is the bigger problem.
