Happens to me all the time. Though my retail work is so brain dead that my mind also stumbles into cool ideas. I just end up forgetting a lot of things by the time I get home and for dreams I can rarely get it 1:1 with what I saw

something similar happens to me, at the moment just before I fall asleep I can visualize images and even move characters very clearly in my head and I get ideas to draw but I always fall asleep.
