>>5918556>I wish Americans appreciated this form of art more.It's an outdated craft with incredibly pedestrian themes. Once in a while you get some great designs that the Japanese are famous for, but most of woodblock printing was single-use trash.
There's some charming colors due to pigment/paper combo and it's nice to have woodgrain show on a print, but other than that, there's not a lot to it.
I miss solid lines in modern prints though, got Hokusai manga book and it's fucking offset printed, can you believe that.
