>>5917317>>5917235What I think is happening here is that when you watch a teacher your short-term memory is flooded with their movements, their thought patterns, etc. Jeff even says this, that you're borrowing his eyes temporarily. Jeff is very good, probably the best art teacher out there right now. It's not even that he's that good at conveying the ideas, it's just that watching him execute is very valuable. You could argue that Steve is a better painter and a better teacher, but Jeff is absolutely a much better draftsmen than Steve by a very long shot. He's phenomenally good at drawing, best I've ever seen from a teacher. When you watch Jeff a lot, you draw maybe 10% as well as him by observing his skills and unconsciously mimicking it, and that 10% will take you a lot further than 10% of another teacher.
