I agree with you, the basics of a 3D software like blender are something you can pick up in a month and start doing decent shit with. The hard part is when you want to create highly polished work but people act like 3D is rocket science or something. 95% of people don't need to reach that mastery of 3D because slapping some materials and a quick light setup is fairly easy to do and enough for most cases.

Creating and rigging models is tricky stuff if you wanna do it well but most of these people just get free assets off the internet and trace them; free background models are even worse because you don't even need to pose them

Looks like shiny bubblegum

Raise the roughness a bit and add a addshader connected to s translucency shader. Instead of the regular color node on the transluceny shader, connect a mixrgb node and make the too color the color that you want and make the bottom color pure black, adjusting the mix level now adjusts how much tanslucency is in your shader. And maybe add a high frequency noise for bump, just a tiny bit so it isnt so perfectly smooth, unless thats what youre going for.
