thanks for all the responses.
Im still practicing the "drawing blind/semi-blind" thing and think i've made a bit of progress. This is the 8th attempt on trying to draw this majestic toad. gonna try shade it now.

at first the shading process went poorly. i tried to do it with criss-cross lines and it looked bad.
then i switched to evenly spaced lines that kinda followed the plane/figure and it looked better than before.
