I'm trying to embody the spirit of Persian miniature painting, which is influenced by Chinese porcelains and Persian carpets, so it's all very loud and detailed, except the figures, which tend to look like so, flat colours and no shading. I think the base drawing wasn't fully thought through so yes the way she's sitting on his thigh is as you say, looks like she's sliding off, you're right.
