>>5911403The brutal truth is that no one cares about OC character lore from brand new artists, nor should they. All they care about is simple design, simple premise, simple execution. The only raw lore dumps people can even vaguely tolerate is stuff that's all setting like All Tomorrows.
Point is to pick a premise people can get in a sentence, and then show consistent characters that can be gotten in a single page. At least as an intro.
Blu Rivers Revolution is about an extremely complex civil war tearing about a Western nation. Premise is easy and interesting alone: another American civil war. The characters are too. They aren't assassins with 30 page backstories, or shit like Coldsteel the Hedgehog.
It's a shitposting Catholic e-girl, a shy rich girl, a Cuban-American girl, and an autistic nerd girl. The first comic strips were just single pages like this that show story and premise.
Cute girls are of course always helpful.
If you want to practice making comic strips, fan comic strips both attract easier attention and showcase your humor.
