I really hate the whole bug eyes small mouth anime aesthetic that everyone seems to glorify. And not just that, but all the clichés and stereotypes that often appear in anime, along with the oversexualization of pretty much everything & the annoying Japanese culture references. And to be fair, I don't like the way Japanese sounds either. The language is so monotone and it gets very grating when spoken by a wide eyed extroverted 14 year old school girl with a high pitched voice. I'm not even kidding when I say that girls in anime sound like chipmunks. It's like they inspired helium or something. Then, there are the jokes that make no sense whatsoever to Westerners and you have to know Japanese in order to understand some of them.
I've been on Pixiv and I can say that Japanese are only able to draw in one artstyle. Some of the stuff they draw is horrible and the fujoshis are a curse brought to humanity.
All in all, I'm not a huge fan of Japan. This might be because I'm Swedish and our nations never got along that well, but still.
I'm planning on becoming an animator in the future and if I ever become famous, I'm pretty sure that people will start asking me about my opinion on anime. I'm afraid about how people will react once they learn I'm an anti. I know that when you are an animator or just an artist in general, it's not possible to completely avoid any questions regarding Japan, because sooner or later, someone will still ask me "Hey, what do you think of anime" or "What's your favorite anime?". I'll just do my best avoid these kind of questions and quickly change the subject when they get brought up. What do you guys think?
