But even if they all were asian, asians are capable of showing their pupils otherwise they'd be blind.
And you can see on the left of OP's pic, that a character born on the island has his eyes and pupils shown.
But I don't think OP is hiding the eyes? The three Armin, Eren, and Mikasa are smiling intensely. So fully closed eyes is possible and anime-approved. And on the left OP is capable of showing eyes.
One thing I will say is I think Armin, Eren, and Mikasa have more realism than their anime/manga counterparts. So maybe OP actually was unsure how to marry that realism with anime-opened eyes?
But you never really know, unless we see more.
Anyway yeah, you are defo wrong about the race.
