Hey /ic/, what is your opinion on this YouTuber's edits of the 1980's mode artwork for some Yandere Simulator characters?

https://youtu.be/B91VNog6_ks This user gives decent insight on 3d modeling and how to improve, but when it comes to editing the 2D artwork, the edits honestly look worse than the original. Even though the original isn't quite good to begin with, but that's just me.

And I guess this thread was also made to ask how anons feel about other people trying to "fix" others artwork instead of redrawing it. Your thoughts?
